A dreary, winter trip to Yosemite National Forest was so beautiful and haunting I knew it would stick with me for life. The daunting cliffs and yawning valley not only take you away from civilization, but also back in time - before the world was fully explored, and when urban legends were just as likely true. After some banter with Katie Hood about the roughly 78% chance a strange all-powerful goatman lived up in the cliffs beyond the cloudline cursing a settler town bellow, we knew we had a world on our hands. Spider-people were the next definite possibility for things that may be able to locomote in such a harsh environment out of sight - perhaps settlers turned monster, or creatures from a different dimension altogether. Katie helped a ton with the development of a great many of the series initial concepts and I can't thank her enough for helping out and getting as excited as I was about the possibility of a spooky western.
